The Fund to Cure Asthma was created in 1994 to secure resources for basic and clinical research related to understanding, treating, and eventually conquering this widespread, debilitating, and often fatal disease.
The Fund supports work at National Jewish Health®, the world's top institution for the research and treatment of asthma. National Jewish Health has been voted the #1 or #2 respiratory hospital by U.S. News and World Report ever since pulmonology was included in the rankings. For 84 years of its almost 115 years of service, National Jewish Health has broken new ground with discoveries that impact and improve the lives of asthma patients around the world.
Impressed by the level of excellence at National Jewish Health and motivated by firsthand experiences of the devastating effects of asthma, the founders of The Fund to Cure Asthma set a goal of raising $14 million to strengthen the research efforts at National Jewish Health. The goal includes endowing six departmental chairs: Pediatric Asthma, Adult Asthma, Asthma Research, Pediatric Allergy, Adult Allergy and Basic Immunology, thus helping to ensure that National Jewish Health will stay at the forefront of asthma research and treatment.
