Our Doctors Put National Jewish Health on Top
For 15 consecutive years, National Jewish Health has been named the number one respiratory hospital in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. The institution is also home to some of “America’s Top Doctors”, 20 of whom made the 2012 list that encompasses less than one percent of doctors nationwide.
Following in the 15-year tradition is Dr. James T. Good, who has been selected as a “Top Doctor” by 5280 magazine for the last 15 years. What he’s gained while practicing at National Jewish Health is a stronger clinical research background and the belief that collaboration makes all the difference.
Research
In addition to our number one respiratory hospital ranking, our clinical research aims to increase the understanding and treatment of disease. Dr. Good, for example, has done extensive research on refractory (difficult-to-treat) asthma. His research using bronchoscopy to guide personalized treatment approaches for patients is very promising.
Collaboration
Patients at National Jewish Health may see more than one doctor for their health concerns. Dr. Good appreciates the collaborative environment in which he works. “What we have is the ability to work up complicated patients with multiple problems efficiently and effectively. We spend more time with our patients here. The different specialties work together extremely well. To have a team of people that you feel is the absolute best is a unique situation.”
U.S. News & World Report surveys more than 230,000 doctors to compile the list of nationwide physicians recognized by their peers for excellence in different specialties. The Top Doctors list created by 5280 magazine is generated from a survey of 8,500 Denver metro-area doctors who were asked, specialty by specialty, which physicians they would trust most to treat them or their own families. National Jewish Health is proud to be the home of 22 of these physicians in the 2012 ranking.
