Human Subjects Protection Certification
All personnel involved in research are required to complete the education requirements in human subject protections by completing the Investigator 101 CD and receive a passing score on the corresponding exam prior to participating in research at National Jewish.
Investigator 101 contains 3 hours of full motion video, consisting of two presentations. Both presentations are divided into short modules so that it does not have to be viewed in one sitting. This CD is accompanied with a written exam provided by the Boston University School of Medicine. The CD and written exams are located in the IRB Office.
Completed exams are to be returned to the IRB Office (B'nai Brith Building, M211) for grading. A printed Certificate of Completion will be issued and a copy will remain on file in the IRB Office.
For information on checking out a training CD, please contact the IRB Coordinator at (303) 398-1477.
Partners in Research Training Modules
All research personnel listed as the IRB Contact Person on IRB submissions are required to complete a series of four training modules designed to familiarize the research staff personnel with the IRB forms and requirements.
The four-part training module covers procedures for submitting and using appropriate forms for new protocol applications, adverse events and protocol deviations, continuing review and changes to a protocol and/or consent.
For information on attending the next training module series, please contact the IRB Manager at (303) 398-1855.
