Our laboratories offer comprehensive, esoteric testing in the following areas:

  • Beryllium Surveillance   
    Provides blood and bronchoalveolar Beryllium Lymphocyte Proliferation Tests (BeLPT).

  • Complement 
    Identifies patients with complement deficiencies, and a contract laboratory for performing tests in conjunction with clinical, pre-clinical (animals) and non-clinical (in-vitro) trials.

  • Core Laboratory
    The Core Laboratory disciplines include Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Electrophoresis and Immunochemistry. A number of routine tests are offered using state-of-the-art instrumentation.

  • Immunology and Flow Cytometry
    Comprehensive panels of assays measure concentration and determine functional activities of major components of the host defense system, including antibodies/immunoglobulins, neutrophils and lymphocytes.

  • Immunopharmacology
    Performs pharmacokinetic studies to evaluate absorption and elimination of systemic steroids by high-performance liquid chromatography.

  • Infectious Disease Pharmacokinetics
    Provides therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) for drugs used to treat infectious diseases.

  • Mycobacteriology
    Provides an accurate identification of mycobacteria causing diseases in humans and animals. Within the last year, the Mycobacteriology Laboratory identified thirty-five mycobacterial species.
