Core Laboratory and Microbiology at National Jewish

In addition to the unique specialty laboratories available at National Jewish, we maintain both Core and Microbiology Laboratories to provide you with test menus that encompass generalized testing to complement your more specialized needs. The Core Laboratory disciplines include Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Electrophoresis and Immunochemistry. A number of routine tests are offered using state-of-the-art instrumentation.

The Microbiology Laboratory provides diagnostic patient support with an emphasis on respiratory testing through culture identification and susceptibility testing. Bacterial and fungal identifications are performed routinely. Specimens for mycobacteriology testing are forwarded to the Mycobacteriology Laboratory. In addition, the Microbiology Laboratory offers extended respiratory culture capability, following CF guidelines, for patients with Cystic Fibrosis.

Assays are performed Monday through Friday during operating hours from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Weekend and holiday coverage extends from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. For further information, contact the Client Services Department at 1-800-550-6227.
