The Miners Clinic of Colorado provides nationally-recognized medical screening, diagnosis, treatment, pulmonary rehabilitation, education, counseling, and prevention services through two free screening programs:

What happens during a screening visit?
The Miners Clinic of Colorado offers in-depth confidential screening for respiratory illnesses and other diseases. Please see the sections below for detailed information about the services provided by each clinic. Most visits include a physical exam, spirometry (breathing test), chest x-ray, and oximetry (oxygen level in your blood). For many illnesses, early diagnosis and medical care can often make a difference in quality of life and long-term survival.
What happens after screening?
You will receive a letter explaining the results of your tests.
If you have any abnormal results one of the Miners Clinic of Colorado case managers will contact you to assist you to arrange further medical evaluation and treatment with your primary care physician, a local healthcare provider or at National Jewish Health. If you do not have a primary care physician, you can schedule an appointment in our Occupational Lung Disease Clinic by calling 1-800-222-5864.

The Miners Clinic of Colorado benefit counselors will also review your results to determine if you may be eligible to file for Federal Black Lung Benefits or radiation exposure benefits.
What will a medical screening cost me?
Your confidential screening at the Miners Clinic of Colorado is FREE. These services are paid for by federally funded grants.
If you need additional diagnostic testing or treatment, those costs will not be covered by Miners Clinic of Colorado. If you do not have insurance and are unable to pay, Miners Clinic staff will help you find the care you need.
Where can I have a free screening?
The Miners Clinic of Colorado has appointments year-round at National Jewish Health in Denver. We also hold annual outreach clinics in partnership with local hospitals near Colorado's mining communities.
