The Corporate Compliance area is responsible for providing guidance to research and clinical staff about the requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). This office also coordinates preparation activities for hospital accreditation by the Joint Commission and oversees the National Jewish Health policy and procedure system.

 

Our Services

  • Advises clinical and research staff about HIPAA regulations

  • Conducts training and writes and revises policies and forms, as needed, to help staff comply with privacy laws

  • Reviews research files for appropriate HIPAA documentation

  • Primary resource for clarification or answers about what National Jewish Health requires of staff to be compliant with HIPAA regulations 

  • As member of IRB, advises the committee on HIPAA requirements
