Why did you want to become a nurse?
When I was growing up, my mother had rheumatoid arthritis and was often ill. When she visited the Mayo Clinic, I went along and was impressed by the doctors and nurses there.

What is it like to work at Morgridge Academy?
It is great to work at Morgridge Academy because since it is such a small school it is possible to get to know all the students and staff really well.

Where did you go to school and when?
I grew up in Iowa and went to school there. When I graduated from high school, I went to St. Luke's School of Nursing in Sioux City, IA, and became a registered nurse. I got a B.S.N. from Mesa College in Grand Junction.

How did you find Morgridge Academy?
When my boys were little, they took swimming lessons here so I knew there was a school at National Jewish Health. Shortly after, I saw an ad in the newspaper for a school nurse at Morgridge Academy.

What do you do in your spare time?
I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, hiking and doing yoga.

What is your favorite teaching story?
I really enjoy having students visit after graduation. It is great to see them growing up and doing well.

What is your education and work history?
I have worked in hospitals in Iowa and Colorado. I have worked in Pediatrics at Denver Health and have been a school nurse in Adams County District 14.
