Cell Biology Program Description

The Program in Cell Biology is an interdepartmental program whose goal is to foster and support cutting-edge basic and translational research into the biology and physiology of lung cells, innate and adaptive immune cells, and the signaling pathways that regulate their function.

Current basic research interests include signal transduction by cytokines, oncogenes, lipid mediators, collectins and phagocytic targets. Translational research programs focus on the pathogenesis of asthma, COPD, pulmonary fibrosis and cancer. Both the basic and translational research programs are supported by state-of-the-art core resources.

Faculty in the Program in Cell Biology have primary appointments in the Departments of Pediatrics, Medicine and Immunology at National Jewish and secondary appointments in an appropriate basic science or clinical Department at the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center.
