Obesity and Asthma in Underserved Youth or the Obesity and Youth with Asthma Study (O-YA)
This study is a randomized 16 week clinical intervention designed to improve respiratory health, fitness, nutrition and decrease Body Mass Index for youth (ages 8-16) with asthma and body mass index greater than the 85 percentile.

Effect of Environmental Tobacco Smoke Exposure on Steroid Responsiveness Among Children with Asthma
The objective of this study is to investigate whether among children with asthma, passive smoke exposure is associated with poorer clinical response to glucocorticoid (GC) and decreased in vitro steroid sensitivity.

Psychosocial Adjustment Among Families of Food Allergic Children
The purpose of this study is to explore families’ quality of life and adjustment to their children’s food allergies; in particular, we will examine parents’ burden, their anxiety levels, and the quality of their adaptation to the food allergies.
