Gastroenterology Program
Gastroenterology involves the diagnosis and treatment of digestive system disorders affecting the esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, rectum, liver, gall bladder and pancreas.
At National Jewish Health, we treat many chronic diseases that have secondary symptoms affecting the digestive system. For example, GE reflux can occur in up to 80 percent of asthma patients. There are also many gastrointestinal issues associated with food allergies and autoimmune diseases.
Gastroenterologist Luette Morton, MD, partners with other specialists at National Jewish Health to determine interrelated causes of uncontrollable asthma and maximize GI therapy for improved health. She is also concerned with the importance of colon cancer screening to ensure that this preventable disease is detected early.
