Autoimmune Lung Center

The Autoimmune Lung Center offers specific expertise within the spectrum of rheumatologic-associated lung diseases and provides patients with a unique, cross-specialty approach to care. It brings rheumatologists, pulmonologists and other related healthcare providers together to coordinate the evaluation  and management of patients with these diseases.

 

Lung Diseases We Treat

Some patients with rheumatologic diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, scleroderma or Sjögren’s syndrome, may develop associated lung problems. Patients with these diseases need to be monitored for such lung problems, and if symptoms develop, a thorough evaluation is required. 

Rheumatologic-associated lung diseases include:

  • airways disease;
  • interstitial lung disease;
  • pulmonary vascular disease (such as pulmonary hypertension);
  • infections;
  • drug-associated damage to the lungs.
