Metabolic Bone Clinic
The Metabolic Bone Clinic offers a multidisciplinary approach to the evaluation and treatment of osteoporosis and other bone conditions. The program is led by a rheumatologist and an endocrinologist who work together to evaluate and treat each patient.
Bone conditions often go undetected until something serious, such as a fracture, occurs. The goal of the Metabolic Bone Clinic is to initiate prevention and identify these diseases at an early stage so that serious injuries can be avoided.
Disease Related Bone Disorders
At National Jewish some of our patients who are being treated for diseases such as COPD and Cystic Fibrosis have related bone disorders. People at any age being treated with steroids are at particular risk for developing osteoporosis or thinning of the bones. The physicians in the Metabolic Bone Clinic work with other healthcare professionals at National Jewish to create an integrative and personalized treatment plan to address the primary and related conditions.
