Summary: Is Your Child Getting Enough Sleep?

25-40% of kids will have a sleep problem at some point during their childhood. A warning sign is children who may display almost ADHD-like behavior when tired, a sign that they're sleep deprived.

Newborn (0-3 months old)

  • 14-17 hours of sleep per day

Infant (4-11 months old)

  • 12-15 hours of sleep per day

Toddler (1-2 years old)

  • 11-14 hours of sleep per day

Preschooler (3-5 years old)

  • 10-13 hours of sleep per day

School-Aged (6-13 years old)

  • 9-11 hours of sleep per night

Adolescent (14-17 years)

  • 8-10 hours of sleep per night
