Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD): Treatment

The treatment of CD and UC can involve one or more types of medications. These include:

  • 5-Aminosalicylates and Antibiotics
  • Corticosteroids
  • Immunomodulators
  • Biologics (TNF antagonists)

Depending on the patient’s medical team, the approach to treatment can begin with either the most aggressive form of treatment first or the least aggressive.

At National Jewish Health, we treat the whole person and look at the right treatment for the right patient. Our multidisciplinary approach to medicine allows us to tailor a treatment program that’s just right for you.
