COPD: Diagnosing, Managing and Treating

Target Audience

This activity was developed for Primary Care Physicians and Physicians who work in Family or Internal Medicine.

 

Goals and Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will demonstrate the ability to:

  1. List the barriers to recognition, assessment and optimal management of COPD.
  2. Discuss the use and interpretation of spirometry to diagnose COPD.
  3. Select appropriate therapeutic interventions for COPD patients at each stage of disease.
  4. Describe appropriate uses of bronchodilators, corticosteroids, and other pharmacologic agents in treatment of COPD.
