Why did you want to become a teacher?
I knew from the time I was in elementary school that I wanted to be a teacher.
What is it like to work at Kunsberg?
I love it. The staff works well together, and we have great students that are interested in learning. The small class sizes make it easier for the students to learn, and I feel that I can make more of a difference in the educational experiences students have here.
Where did you go to school, and when?
I received a B.A. in Elementary and Special Education from Northwestern State College in Natchitoches, LA, a M.A. in Special Education from Adams State College in Alamosa, CO, and I have done post graduate work at U.N.C. and Adams State.
How did you find Kunsberg?
I saw an ad in the paper about an opening at the school, came for an interview and loved the school.
What do you do in your spare time?
I love to read, go to the theater and take road trips. I also enjoy playing with my grandchildren, sewing and traveling just about anywhere.
What is your favorite teaching story?
My favorite times teaching are when a student has difficulty understanding a concept and, suddenly, a light goes on and they figure it out. As far as a story...I have too many to tell here.
What is your education and work history?
I've worked in facility schools and other schools in Louisiana, Washington and Colorado. I've taught elementary, junior high and special education classes.
