Why did you want to become a teacher?
I absolutely LOVE to work with kids and I knew when I was in 1st grade that teaching was what I wanted to do.

What is it like to work at Kunsberg?
It's very rewarding working at Kunsberg. We have a top-notch staff who are invested in seeing our students succeed. It's great to be able to see them participate in programs that may not be available to them in the public schools either because of budget or their personal health issues. It's also a great feeling to have former students come through and update us on their lives.

Where did you go to school and when?
I have a Bachelors degree in education from Central Methodist in Fayette, MO. I have completed work toward two separate Masters degrees - one in special education and one in integrating tech in the classroom

How did you find Kunsberg?
I had moved to Denver in 1985...they were looking for a tutor and I applied!

What do you do in your spare time?
I'm a songwriter. I work with other friends with students in Aurora Public Schools on song-writing. I also love to cross-stitch.

What is your favorite teaching story?
I remember a young girl who came to Kunsberg and was in my classroom as a first grader. The first day of school she said, "Teach me to read." She knew her alphabet at that time, but by the end of the year she was reading at almost a 4th grade level! Woo Hoo!

What is your education and work history?
I taught in grades 2 - 6 at a Catholic school in Illinois for 5 years before coming to Colorado. In addition, I have taught pantomime in recreational park district programs and given music lessons.
