Why did you want to become a counselor?
I became a counselor because I appreciate relationships, and the healing that can be done through working through hard stuff.
What is it like to work at Kunsberg?
Kunsberg is an amazing place. I love the atmosphere and the attitude that each staff brings, and the way they believe in the students here.
Where did you go to school and when?
Pacific Lutheran Universy - BA, graduated 2005
Denver Seminary - MA, graduated 2008
How did you find out about Kunsberg?
I found out about Kunsberg through a friend of mine who is a recruiter here. When I read about it and learned more, I knew I had to apply here.
What do you do in your spare time?
I love to spend time with my husband as well as to travel, read, hike, ski and play sports.
What is your favorite counseling story?
I worked with a student who had lost her mother and had a lot of difficulty being able to grieve that loss. It was so neat to watch her walk through the steps of counseling to get to a place where she felt whole again. Going through counseling did not make losing her mother “okay,” but it did help her to feel as if she was not alone in the world.
What is your education and work history?
I have a background in both business and community counseling. I have worked with kids and adults in several therapeutic settings through Medicaid, private practice, school settings and social skills groups.
