Research Interests
My research interest is in the area of lung inflammation and repair. Specifically I am interested in the role of lung vasculature in repair mechanisms following acute inflammatory injury characterized by fibrosis. This includes studying angiogenesis and endothelial cell apoptosis over the course of inflammation and fibroproliferation in animal models of lung injury. I am also interested in the signaling mechanisms that drive vascular changes in the lung during the development of fibrosis including the role of distinct cell types such as macrophages and lymphoctyes.
Clinical Interests
My clinical interests are interstitial lung diseases and vascular lung diseases. I am also interested in critical care medicine, particularly the mangement of septic shock and ARDS.

Understanding Idiopathic ILD has no treatment path is sobering but Dr Yunt's reassurances that it is an early mild stage showing no progression since my first visit July 2023 was direct and much appreciated. The doctor was open and actually listening to me about issues that may or may not have been related to my specific condition. I didn't know what could be related so I brought up all my ills and they listened to help clear up my concerns. Also, the follow up tests seemed to be deliberately done to not only diagnose my condition but also determine damage that it had caused and what type of treatment might be needed from that perspective.

In all my time discussing my problems with NJH's doctors and nurse practioner's I have gotten the distinct impression that they are all very rushed. They do take a lot of time with me, and they do answer the questions I have thoroughly but at the end it always feels like I still have about 5 or 10 questions I would like to address and they are simply out of time. They have to wrap it up and get on to the next patient. I'm not sure there is anything they or you can do about it and still take care of as many patients who obviously need your help - just an observation.
