Coming to Denver
Airport and Transportation Information
Many airlines serve Denver International Airport. Because the airport is large and concourse aisles are long, we recommend that you take full advantage of free airline services. For example, when you make your flight reservations, you can ask for an attendant with a motorized cart or a wheelchair to meet you at the gate when you arrive. You can also ask for early boarding if you are ill or traveling with medical equipment.
Airport to hotel transportation is available through the individual lodging facilities. Please ask about this when making your lodging arrangements.
Denver is easily accessible by interstate highways. Driving conditions are usually excellent, except during winter storms, when radio and TV weather reports will give you helpful information. Also, the Colorado Department of Highways operates a 24-hour hotline on road conditions statewide. The number to call is (303) 639-1111 or visit the website at www.cotrip.org.

High Altitude Information
Denver is the Mile High City, with an average elevation of 5,280 feet. Sometimes people from lower altitudes experience some initial discomfort, lightheadedness or headache symptoms that pass in a day or two. To help your body make an easier adjustment remember three things: slow down a little on your first day here, limit your intake of alcoholic beverages, and drink more water or other nonalcoholic beverages the first day or two.
