Special Interests

Research Interests

Dr. Van Dyke’s major research interest is the evaluation of environmental and occupational exposures related to respiratory disease. His research expertise includes occupational and environmental exposure assessment, including retrospective exposures and exposure data analysis and management. He has spent a large portion of his career focused on the interaction between exposure and genetics in the development of chronic beryllium disease. In addition, Dr. Van Dyke is currently involved in research evaluating the relationship between home environmental exposures and asthma symptoms among children. He also continues to be involved in studies of mouse allergen and endotoxin exposure among laboratory animal handlers and studies of potential exposures from clandestine methamphetamine laboratories.
