Special Interests

Clinical Interests

I am particularly interested in vocal cord dysfunction (VCD) in children and adolescents. This disorder is frequently mistaken for asthma and can result in severe limitation of activity and disability. VCD occurs much more frequently than is suspected. We are uniquely positioned here at National Jewish Health to diagnose and treat VCD with a multidisciplinary, integrative team approach.

My second interest is in hypnotherapy treatment for respiratory disorders. I am certified in Medical Hypnosis and have been practicing for the past three years. With or without associated organic disease, the following entities can be treated effectively with integrative approaches which include hypnosis and biofeedback: chronic cough, hyperventilation syndrome, vocal cord dysfunction and breathing pattern disorders.

I see children from infancy to age 18 yrs old. In addition, I occasionally see patients through their college years.
