Clinical Interests
I have special training (combination of pediatrics and child and adolescent psychiatry) with respect to recognizing and managing psychosocial aspects of chonric illness. I also see children without physical illness but with emotional/behavioral problems including the following problems; Anxiety disorders, ADHD, Asperger's Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Depression.
I consult to pediatricians and other clinicians regarding diagnoses, the use of psychotropic medications, therapy, herbal treatments, behavioral interventions, interactions between medications etc., for children with emotional problems, and children with chronic physical illnesses.
Board Certified

Research Interests
My laboratory is focused on the interactions between the mind and body. We are interested in understanding more about how individuals achieve and maintain health.
Research focuses on the relationship between stress, behavior and the immune system, especially with respect to inflammatory illnesses. We currently have an intervention study for children with asthma, who also are overweight.
