Harry Bock and Bock family to be honored at benefit reception on April 27 in Dallas
The Dallas Bella Sera event will support National Jewish Health, the nation’s #1 respiratory hospital
National Jewish Health will honor Harry Bock and the Bock family for their service and commitment to the Dallas community on April 27 at The Apartment in Dallas. Community and business leaders Mike Glazer, Burl and Betty Osborne, Richard and Nancy Rogers, and Allan Zidell and Donna Fadal will co-chair the cocktail reception.
Harry Bock, who passed away July 12, 2010, was well-known for his loyalty, honesty and strong work ethic. He learned the jewelry trade from his father, Abram, after the family was liberated from Dachau, Germany, during World War II and moved to Dallas. Harry founded The Harry Bock Company, which owns and operates Bachendorf’s Jewelers. He and his wife, Elaine, raised their three sons, Steven, Lawrence and David, all of whom live with their families in Dallas today.
Funds raised at the annual Bella Sera event will support programs at National Jewish Health, the Denver-based hospital known worldwide for the treatment and research of respiratory, cardiac and immune disorders. Since 1998, U.S. News & World Report has ranked National Jewish Health the #1 respiratory hospital in the nation.
From 2008 to 2010, National Jewish Health treated 1,000 patients from Texas and provided nearly $106,500 in charity care to Texans. Events like Bella Sera enable the institution to continue its legacy of never turning patients away, regardless of their ability to pay. In addition to directly caring for Texas patients, National Jewish Health physicians and nurses last year provided free information to more than 6,100 Texas residents and physicians. National Jewish Health trained 63 physicians who now practice medicine in Texas.
The Bella Sera cocktail reception receives additional support from Host Committee members Carol and Steve Aaron, Julie Abbey, Candy and Ike Brown, Carol and Howard Cohen, Marion and Bennett Glazer, Cherylon and Jimmy Jackson, Carole and Scott Murray, Kim and William Shaddock, Tammany and Rob Stern, Lisa Zidell and Michael Zidell.
Individual tickets for the Dallas Bella Sera are $250. For tickets or for information about sponsorship opportunities, contact Kristin Langona at firstname.lastname@example.org or 303.728.6527.
