Richard Weber, MD, Recognized for Distinguished Service

The American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology presented National Jewish Health physician Richard Weber, MD, with its Distinguished Service Award at its fall 2008 national meeting. The College board accords the honor to those physicians who contribute to allergy and immunology care above and beyond expectations.

Dr. Weber is a senior staff physician and professor of medicine at National Jewish Health. Previously, Dr. Weber has been honored four times as the Teacher of the Year by the National Jewish Health Pediatric Allergy/Immunology Training Program. He chairs the aerobiology committee of the College and previously served on its Board of Regents and its Executive Committee. He has also served as a consultant in allergy and clinical immunology to the Army Surgeon General and to the Department of Defense.

 

Charles Daley, MD, Elected Chair of ATS Assembly

Professor of Medicine Charles Daley, MD, has recently been elected chair of the American Thoracic Society's Assembly on Microbiology, Tuberculosis and Pulmonary Infections. The Assembly provides important guidance to the medical community about the treatment of tuberculosis and other pulmonary infections.  Dr. Daley, Head of the Division of Mycobacterial and Respiratory Infections at National Jewish Health, is actively involved in clinical and epidemiologic investigations of tuberculosis and other mycobacterial infections. He is the author of more than 55 research articles and 40 book chapters and reviews.
