I love teaching the young children because I love teaching beginning reading.  In my classroom I teach guided reading depending on the student's reading readiness.  We make words with letter cards and do a lot of creative writing.  I believe in using manipulatives to teach basic math concepts followed by practice activities.  Science and social studies are integrated through literature.  Social skills are important at this age so the students earn free time to play together.
