Fine Arts at the Kunsberg School – Ms. Morrisey’s Class

This program fosters growth and knowledge by assisting students in learning to perform, create, and respond to music, drama and art. Also included is the electronic keyboard lab, which allows individual or group piano study, and a wide variety of percussion instruments and vocal experiences. The Kunsberg School aims to develop literacy in the arts, as well as academic disciplines.

Fine Arts curriculum includes music, art, movement and drama.

  • 2 major all-school productions a year (holiday and spring)
  • Try to have an all-school Fine Arts field trip each year
    (ex. Symphony, Arvada Center)
  • Study music theory, classical composers
  • Piano lab — all students have chance to explore the keyboard
  • Guitars, recorders and Orff instruments are utilized with classes
  • Singing Valentines
  • Individual classes perform for rest of the school
  • Study classic artists, some art history
  • Fine motor skills
  • Clay and kiln
  • Drawing
  • Painting
  • Gross motor movement
  • Line dancing
  • Folk dancing
  • Improv
  • Class plays
  • Readers’ theatre
  • Technology — computer, lights, sound and film
