Kunsberg Counseling Corner
We have a full-time School Counselor and a Child Advocate who are available to counsel the students on a daily basis and/ or weekly basis. Group is held weekly in each class to address issues that arise.
Behavior Expectations
To help ensure that our students are provided with the best medical and educational attention we have set up behavioral expectations of each child that attends our school. Each student that attends our school has the right to come to a safe environment.
Students are expected to:
Be respectful to themselves, each other and to the staff - this includes appropriate language (no cussing, no name calling, no teasing) and appropriate clothing (no skin showing , no gang colors, no inappropriate words on clothing, no hats, hoods, bandanas, or headbands). At this time, the students are required to wear school uniforms. The uniform consists of either khaki or navy slacks, along with a collared shirt in white, light blue, navy, or burgundy. We do not require students to wear their uniforms on Fridays.
Follow the rules of the school. Do not fight or put their hands on any other student, even if it is intended as a playful gesture. Be honest and truthful. Come to school ready to learn and be a positive part of the community we have created at Kunsberg. Keep themselves and others safe.
Behavior Bonuses
In addition to attempting to discourage unacceptable behaviors, the staff at Kunsberg would like to encourage positive, acceptable behaviors. We have coupons that the students will receive when they are caught doing something exceptional. Any staff member can present a student with a Behavior Bonus coupon.
The behaviors that are expected include:
Taking personal responsibility, being respectful and courteous, being cooperative, improving a problem behavior, taking responsibility for medications, being a positive role model, completion of all week's class work, completion of all week's homework, excellent lunchtime behavior, following recess rules, etc.
