Health Benefits Summary
National Jewish Medical and Research Center offers its employees a wide variety of benefits from which a benefits eligible employee may choose to participate. Benefits such as 25% Cafeteria Discounts, Direct Deposit, U.S. Savings Bonds, Banking and Credit Union affiliations, etc., are available to all employees.
Benefits available to benefits eligible employees currently include, and are not limited to:
- Accumulation of three types of paid leave – Holiday, Vacation, and Sick Leave. The number of hours you accumulate each pay period is based on the number of hours you are regularly scheduled to work.
- Medical coverage for employee and dependents on a pre-tax basis
- Dental coverage for employee and dependents on a pre-tax basis
- Vision coverage for employee and dependents on a pre-tax basis
- Life Insurance for spouse and dependent children with after-tax dollars
- Voluntary Retirement Plan – you may begin making pre-tax contributions to this retirement plan as early as your date of hire.
- Voluntary employee Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance with after-tax dollars
- Voluntary additional Long Term Disability coverage with after-tax dollars
- Healthcare and Dependent Care Spending Accounts using pre-tax dollars
- Legal plan coverage with after-tax dollars.
The following benefits are currently provided at NO COST to benefits eligible employees:
- Group Life Insurance – 1 times your annual salary, rounded to the next highest thousand, not to exceed $300,000.
- Group Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance – 1 times your annual salary, rounded to the next highest thousand, not to exceed $300,000.
- Group Long Term Disability – provides 60 percent of monthly salary up to established limits in the event of disability.
- 403(b) Retirement Plan – National Jewish will begin making contributions into your retirement plan after 2 years of service. You do not need to make contributions in order to receive contributions from National Jewish. You are immediately 100 percent vested with the first contribution.
