National Jewish Health® provides services for the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH), for the operation of Quitline Iowa. Operations for this statewide service commenced in December 2007 with a transfer of service from the University of Iowa. National Jewish Health is responsible for all operational activities for the call center, including receiving and processing all intake calls; performing a series of up to eight cessation coaching sessions; provision of NRT for qualified callers; developing and selecting educational material in support of the needs for the targeted communities, as well as for sub-groups within these populations such as pregnant callers and teens; working with Iowa Medicaid for provision of NRT and Chantix to qualified Medicaid members; and providing information for program evaluation and outcomes reporting.
