National Jewish Health® provides services for Presbyterian Health Plan (PHP) of New Mexico for the operation of the Tobacco QuitLine. Operations for this service commenced in November 2006 with a transfer of service from their previous vendor. National Jewish Health has responsibility for all activities associated with the call center, including all intake calls; performing a series of up to five cessation coaching calls; provision of Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) medications; developing educational materials, program evaluation and outcomes reporting; and participation in marketing to promote the program. National Jewish Health worked with GlaxoSmithKline and PHP to develop a marketing program for healthcare providers. In 2008 National Jewish Health began to provide QuitLine services to the State of New Mexico and this enables the State QuitLine to transfer any callers who have PHP coverage to the PHP QuitLine, saving the State of New Mexico dollars to be able to support more of the uninsured population.
