In 1991 a group of New Yorkers came together to support the important work of National Jewish. Many of them, or members of their families, had experienced firsthand the debilitating effects of allergies, asthma, and lupus and had been recipients of the compassionate care provided by National Jewish. The clinical treatment they received there provided the inspiration from which the A.I.R. Society sprang.
The New York A.I.R. Society is composed of a richly diverse group of young professionals from a variety of industries in the New York Metro area. They are considered the up and coming young leadership group of National Jewish with the age range of the group being mostly 20s to mid 40s.
Over the past 16 years, the A.I.R. Society has raised in excess of $1.5 million to fund research, patient care, and clinical and educational programs at National Jewish.
These funds benefit New York patients who are treated at National Jewish as well as thousands of others whose local doctors take advantage of one of the world’s premier sources of medical research, patient care, and information.
The A.I.R. Society traditionally hosts an annual fundraising event held in the spring. New members are always welcome.
