Division of Critical Care & Hospital Medicine (CC&HM)

Stephen Frankel, MD

Stephen K. Frankel, MD
Division Chief

What do we do? We specialize in the care of the acutely-ill patient. Through a partnership with HealthONE/Rose Medical Center, the National Jewish Health CC & HM faculty provide a broad and comprehensive range of clinical services for patients with serious and life-threatening medical conditions, at the Rose Medical Center campus, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Why National Jewish Health? Beyond providing exceptional clinical care, we actively participate in medical student and internal medicine resident education through our relationship with the University of Colorado Denver. Our Division supports professional education/continuing medical education events including the Society of Critical Care Medicine’s Fundamentals of Critical Care Support class. Also in keeping with the mission of National Jewish Health, the CC & HM faculty participate in clinical and translational research initiatives focusing on such diseases as acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and sepsis.
