Bronchoscopy Technologist - RT

The Procedure Unit in the Department of Nursing at National Jewish Health is seeking to hire a Bronchoscopy Technologist - RT that is responsible for assisting with bronchoscopy and endoscopy (as needed) procedures including procedure room preparation. Cleans, maintains, and secures bronchoscopes and GI scopes (as needed).  Performs complex calibrations, calculation of data, and evaluates accuracy, reliability, and reproducibility of results to meet or exceed all national standards.

Qualifications

Understanding of an out-patient procedure unit desired. Will be working within a Minimally Invasive Diagnostic Center (MIDC). Bronchoscopy experience preferred.

Education
Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or completion of 62 semester hours of college credit including at least one course in biology, chemistry, and mathematics required.

Certification and Licensure
Registered as a Pulmonary Function Technologist (PFT) or Respiratory Therapist (RT) with the National Board for Respiratory Care or Certified as a PFT or RT (with equivalent experience and training) required. CPR/BLS required. ACLS required within 90 days of hire.

Work Experience
A minimum of two (2) or more years of recent and related experience preferred. Clinical rotation experience in Respiratory Care through an accredited college program will be considered.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, upbeat team player.  Additionally, must function well under stressful situations and be able to change tasks with minimal notice. Must be able to collaborate with teammates and the nursing team to facilitate efficiency and safe patient care. Must have a positive attitude, displaying a "can-do" attitude rather than wasting time on negative aspects. Needs to be a self-starter that looks for things to do and offers to assist others.
